"Amazing food. The best dinner I've ever eaten. The staff in the dining room were so helpful, accommodating and generally lovely. I had my 9 month daughter with me and it was so friendly and she was fully included in our dining experience. Service was...quick and efficient but never rushed. I can't recommend them enough."

"We took the dog, Wooster, for his walk from Lower Upham to this pub on a pleasant October morning, and found the welcome we received as strangers so warm that we stayed for lunch! It was well worth stopping here by the log fire, where Basil, another rescue dog, sat next to me immediately. Service was excellent, and the food a surprisingly home made treat none of the chain made stuff of bland menus to be found here. I ordered the cream of onion soup, served with a slice of bread and real chunk of butter, hot and delicious; my partner elected to have the salted cod croquettes, which were declared excellent. Desserts we enjoyed were sticky ginger pudding with ice cream (lovely gingery flavour too! and I had a cold pear and chocolate crumble, served in a small pot just enough to feel well fed f or the walk down the hill to Lower Upham. This dog friendly small pub is well worth your while to visit and to while away a gentle afternoon. With a large glass of wine and a lime and soda, plus a double espresso after the meal, the bill for the two of us came to just over £42.00"
