"Just what you hope to find on a visit to France. A small family-run restaurant with superb food and reasonable prices. Watch and learn !! Lunches are very reasonable, popular with local business people and clients. Go for the set menu. It 's a tiny kitchen and Chef is on his own, so it 's always a good idea to go for the dishes of the day, you won 't be disappointed. He buys fresh from the market and always has a dish inspiration of the Chef or some such, whatever was looked particularly good on the day. There 's a tank with live seafood (lobster) and the lobster I had with a Cognac creme sauce was divine even if I needed a second mortgage. Please don 't ask for steak well done. You 'll put him in a bad mood. Choose something else. I have also had a humble pork chop with a white wine sauce ... tender and gorgeous. How do they do it ? Passion is the answer, plus great skill."

"It was a cold, wet evening and we had already decided we didn’t want to eat in the hotel but wanted something quick and easy like Pizza. We used the internet to check out likely contenders and then went for a drive locally. Anfiteatro looked like it was closed as there were not too many lights on but driving past it again we spotted customers. We parked and ventured inside, it was around 1830 and so not particularly busy. A warm smile from the Maitre d’ greeted us and she showed us to a table. We ordered drinks whilst browsing the menu. It had the usual Italian fare of antipasti, pasta, salads and the like. Naturally the pizza’s were not necessarily the variations that you would find in the UK but we had decided to create our own anyway. We then went completely off menu by asking for a large one between the two of us (the size was not listed) and they cheerily accommodated us. It quickly arrived, was piping hot and very tasty. What more could you ask for? We declined dessert, were quickly presented with l’addition and were speedily on our way."

"C'est à reculons que nous avons tenté une seconde expérience dans ce restaurant.Agréablement surpris. Tres bon accueil malgré la foule. Service rapide et souriant des jolies serveuses. Assiette très copieuse. Il est conseillé de prendre des grillades (la viande est excellente). Les sauces en accompagnement sont à éviter cependant. Les desserts au top! Une addition plus que raisonnable. Décor sympa. Restaurant très clean."
