"This is a self service restaurant and cafe and we were there in high summer. We arrived near closing time for the cable car, so we only ordered a coffee. At a price of 4 euro per coffee, this was already an unpleasant surprise. Coffee was ok, but not warm at all. Service indifferent, but then how would you expect 'service ' in a selfservice place..? We sat outside. We 've been on Gerlitzen Gipfel a couple of times, but never was this terrace busy. With their wooden benches and tables, without any decoration, and even without umbrellas to protect you from the sun, why would you prefer this place to it 's neighbour? The view however is great: lift-off of paragliders, the mountains, clouds, etc... When we left, I brought the tray back inside and there was a group having a lot of fun and drinks (obviously regulars and smoking hevay cigars! The whole room was full of smoke and smell of it. Again, this was almost closing time, so I guess that rules and laws don 't applie anymore at that time. What I don 't understand is that you can only pay in cash! Now, that raises some questions as to why you would demand that of customers these days? People don 't like to carry big amounts of money anymore, we all have debit cards and within Europe it 's easy to use without extra costs. To me, demanding only cash is suspicous, but most of all outdated and not customerfriendly. You should at least have the choice. I can imagine this place being busy in winter, occupied by groups of skiers, hanging around the skibar outside, downing shots. Ypu wouldn 't mind the wooden benches and the no frill, wearing and carrying skigear. But in summertime, it 's a different matter. In all for us: overpriced, unsociable, unwelcoming and oldfashioned. I think they lose customers to their neighbour, where the terrace is cosy, the benches and tables decorated with furs, flowers and cutlery, has a loungy and modern atmosphere and where you can pay with card. We went there 4 times, even though it 's a 200m walk downhill (and uphill back to the cable car! . Happy to spend 4 euro on a coffee there, except it 's not even that expensive ..."
