"A pleasant if unexceptional place redeemed by the light, bright room and the quality of the welcome. Monsieur serves, madame cooks. No other staff, apparently. The plat de jour was okay, a rabbit chasseur with fat, juicy rabbit but let down a bit by a sauce that needed a bit of oomph. A salade of chevre and lardons was good. A well chosen (by them, not me) bottle of champagne from Hautvillers washed it all down well. Nice to be somewhere with plenty of other customers, mostly locals it seemed. Worth a visit for a lunch if you are passing."

"We had dinner at the magnificent Champagne Royale restaurant and we loved it! The aperitif on the terrace was very pleasant and the view is splendid. The aesthetics of the hotel and restaurant are very modern, luxurious and delicious. I would add that the meal was succulent and that the service was irreproachable! a big thank you to waitress Elisa, who made our meal a very nice moment. Attention for our friends’ birthday was very pleasant! We will certainly return."

"We used to LOVE this place. We stayed there several times and ate there for dinners always special. After the change of ownership to a bigger corporation a years back things changed. It got too expensive to stay there, so we had not been back. We found ourselves staying in the area and were looking for a really nice dinner for our "Last supper" in France. I should have believed the reviews. The service is excellent and attentive, but perhaps too much so for the venue. They have an excellent selection of Champagne as one would be expecting however it is heavily marked up. We ordered an older vintage bottle and it was a bit off, but we did not want to complain. I ordered a fish main that was awful, my husband said his quail was OK. Some items were good, but for what we were paying it should have been flawless. The baby across the room pounding on the table did not add to the ambiance. The place has a pretty room, nice view, attentive service mediocre food at one star prices."
