"As the name would suggest, the food is primarily fish but one of our party had beef which she said was excellent. There were several fixed price menus with lots to choose from. However, the waiters couldn't remember who had what. It took more than an hour between the first course being cleared and the second served in spite of questioning by the French speaking members of our party. Finally, they brought ou a complimentary digestif but miscounted snd brought only four for a table of five. I still highly recommend it for the excellent food."

"My husband and I went to this restaurant on an early Saturday evening without any reservation, and we were given a warm welcome nevertheless (usually a reservation is de rigor on Saturdays in Geneva ; so that was a good start. The views were fantastic and...added to the nice feeling of being there. We ordered fish dishes from the Lake itself a bit pricey but then they weren't frozen fish. My husband's dish le fera was excellent though the steamed potatoes could be better. My dish Geneva filets de perch was excellent, served with crunchy fries and tartare sauce. My dish came automatically with delicious fresh salad with vinaigrette dressing. And although my husband's dish didn't come with one, they gave him a salad just the same, so that was very nice! After we savoured our food, we couldn't order any more (dessert nor coffee as were were stuffed and we wanted to guard the taste from the wonderful fish. And the server (maybe he was the owner? , after being told that we didn't want to order anymore, said that we should anyway stay as long as we want and enjoy which we certainly did! A VERY VERY NICE EVENING INDEED!"

"Disclaimer The following review is not about the La Reserve Hotel but about one of the restaurants located in this hotel. I wish there were options to rate this restaurant separately What you expect in any restaurant and I mean in any restaurant...(be it in a three Michelin or an ordinary one in the corner of your street) is transparency of price before you order any dish. Unfortunately, this is not the case at La Reserve Summer Lodge. The pricing on the fish menu is absolutely ambiguous. It is like one goes to a restaurant and orders a dish and the waiter tells the client “our chef will decide how much you are going to pay for that dish you ordered after you eat it! I have been to many places but never seen such a flawed menu pricing. We ordered a sea bass for two and paid Sfr 108. per person for a simple grilled fish! And the only reason was that the waiter did not inform us in advance about the weight of the fish when we made our orders. We simply thought we were going to get a normal size fish and it never even crossed our minds that actually we were going to be served a 1.2 Kg of sea bass at Sfr 18. per 100 grams! Can you please tell me which type of a chef would really think that a person could eat 600gr of fish per person! Okay, let’s admit it there is probably about 100 to 150 gram of waste per person when you clean that fish but still it is a huge portion of fish! At the very least they should have informed their guests in advance about the size of the fish they were going to be served when we ordered it, especially given the fact that fish arrives every day and you have no control of the sizes of each fish “selon arrivage”. But they have a choice to inform their clients “in advance” not after the fact! This is not acceptable and they should stop this practice right away. Inform their clients in advance about the price of the dish they are ordering. This is not about the money spent but about making informed decisions on how you want to spend your money. I don’t think in any circumstances they have the right to impose prices on their clients. Not a good experience!"
