Best Seafood Restaurants FIANO ROMANO (April 2023)

"We chose a slower exit north from Rome in the hope of finding a friendly rustic family run restaurant after a hard mornings shopping. We found Piccolo Paradiso on the main road running parallel to the A1 motorway, heading north. Although the restaurant initially looks more like a location where only snacks and drinks are served, closer examination led us to the restaurant on the higher part of the area. Parking was easy and the view down to the Tiber (Tevere) was stunning where it has widened and flattened out. The is a Nature Park there which covers a wide area. The restaurant was quiet but we were well received and served immediately. The vibe was good and you could tell it was a family run concern. It had proper tablecloths and napkins which was a delight and we were made to feel very welcome. The menu has quite a split between a very wide selection of meat and fish. There were specials we were made aware of and we chose the fish with a house wine. Our choices were the fish anti pasta which was substantial and very delicious. We followed this with the linguine pasta with half a lobster which was also a real treat. The staff were attentive but at no stage did we feel under any pressure and as the meal progressed the staff and owner became very engaging and forthcoming. I was very surprised to read earlier reports where meals did go to plan and was very puzzled to understand how this could have happened. We finished with a cold lemon sorbet to cleanse the pallet and coffee. After lunch we walged in the gardens and play area and found an area where the wild boar come up the steep slope from the Tiber to be fed, behind a stout fence. We would liked to have seen that, but that happens later in the day apparently. All in all a great experience and exactly what we were looking for. We were very grateful for the meal and service we received and will return. Well done and keep it up!"
