"*Edit* Still the best in town and the only chippy I will use in Ludlow, staff are great as is the owner, always a nice welcome even when they are busy. Food is great but I 've noticed recently the chip portions have got really small for the price, recently had to go back and buy another portion to go with the meal, bought a regular chips which turned out to be less chips than what was in the old cone of chips. I now buy extra chips so theres enough which is a pity as the price has jumped since covid. Not knocking off a star in this edit as the food is consistently good. Looking at a review left about dont bother after 7pm, nothing left is absolute rubbish, owner and staff will cook you fresh food 10 minutes before closing. Please just give me a few more chips"

"On a cold, dark and stormy (literally) night we walked down from our B B. Restaurant was not seating people inside, but kind owner let us sit on his fire escape to enjoy their outstanding fish chips. Crispy batter, juicy fish, very generous portions, crispy chips, good mushy peas; scampi also good. If we lived in Ludlow we'd be here every week."

"Having stayed here for a long time in the past so needed a visit before the end of 2021.. Knowing what to expect and they now have a new chef it was time to see if I was up for the worst or for the better has changed? And luckily it hasn't gotten any worse! Fish was a couple of canapés which are always good. The one big tasting fried onion consomme that packs a great taste stamp. The regular great tasting breads with marmite butter and seaweed, a delicious artichoke potato skin that was done to perfection. Next was Monk with Smoked Roe! Fish was meaty and great! Only sad thing was the size, I wanted the monk to be a bit bigger. Then next was an absolutely brilliant beef main that made me want another plate of this! So good it was one of my standout dishes of 2021. Then the regular peach, pink pepper chocolate which is always nice to eat. Then this mortal chocolate dome was so decadent and delicious. Then, to round off the afternoon, some finely tasted petit fours were tasted! Tho the only complaint about it was the macaron was slightly crunchy! Always great after Ludlow! And always great after Fishmore."
