"Being on the road through Europe by car is often boring but sometimes reveals nice surprises. We stopped almost at random in Wolgast to have "linner" (late lunch/early dinner). After walking through the cosy and quiet town center we found the restaurant by the water. It looked very ordinary from the outside, but after several days of meat dinners we were ready for fish.I discovered early that they didn't do cards, and coming from Poland that day, I had to walk back into town center to get some euros. My German is very limited, but we were able to communicate well through broken German, English and improvised sign language. Menus were also only in German. While my teenage children ordered smaller dishes, my wife and I shared a "for two" dish which had 4 different fried fishes". The presentation was OK. No gourmet restaurant presentation, but then it didn't try to be. When tasting the fish, however, the quality emerged. Very tasty, and with the right texture of experienced fish chef preparation. Every fish tasted different, and the simple accompagnement on the plate worked well. A very satisfying meal. There were plenty of food and everyone had their fill.For fish taste alone I'd give full 5 point rating. But I also like convenience. The absence of an English menu, the need to pay in cash and a slightly oldish interior pulled ot down from top mark.The food is great, though. Visit for a good fish meal."
