"I went with anticipation to Bo De Trai in Footscray after reading good reviews on Urbanspoon and seeing a photograph of the very extensive menu. On arrival, we were given a one page menu with about 15 dishes to choose from in total. A huge...difference to the menu that was photographed and placed in Urbanspoon. We ordered the Hue soup and the mock chicken lemongrass rice dish. The former was laced with MSG (I could taste it) with 3 mere pieces of tofu and the latter was a rather small portion. Sad to say, it is unlikely that I will return there, as I would like to support the Buddhist group as much as I can."

"The staff were very pleasant and being a Tuesday night then atmosphere was nice without any load noises/groups. Unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down, I had a beef and a chicken tacos. The chicken was bad and the beef was slightly better. Unfortunately the meat was missing flavors from spices that I enjoy. The chicken tasted like it was steamed, watery and not much too it, the beef was better tasting like it was slow cooked. I have given it a generous 3stars because the staff were nice, free chips and salsa, and whilst the meat was less not great the other ingredients were fresh. Providing a colorful presentation. I would not choose to go back, but if it was a group wanting to go I would consider coming along (just rethink my food choice)."

"Mind blowing experience. Truly surpassed expectation. You won't find a better value fine dining degustation. The 8 course menu is in fact 14 plates make sure you arrive with an empty stomach because it's a 3 hour plus journey that you will never forget. Julian goes out of his way to involve diners in the process do try get a spot at Chef's Bar to see the master in motion! and the service is second to none. It rivals the likes of Brae and Attica. Navi should be top of your hit list. Especially if you appreciate seafood!"
