"Wonderful cafe From the outside somewhat inconspicuous. Inside you can go to Vienna. Good that the owners get everything so....with charm. The offer and quality are right. Traditional goods. Conditions very friendly despite well filled cafe. A must when you are in Altenburg! Unfortunately the café is closed on Saturday"

"The restaurant is located opposite the banks of the lake with a nice view. The first thing in the restaurant is a fur on the floor in front of a warming oven. However, the room is more modern with lilac LED lighting at the walls. The plates and cutlery reflect an IKEA style (actually are IKEA). My Darjeeling tea came with a branded tea bag (which was not up to the price tag). The coffee drinkers had to add lot of milk and sugar. The "Russischer Zupfuchen" (Russian twitch cake) is a classic cake that usually comes with a rich cocoa dough at the bottom, quark filling, and a solid cover of a more crispy/crumbly dough that is "twitched" to form little hats before baking. However, the cake looked like the baking mixture of Dr Oetker (topping made of flakes of the same dough as the bottom, this makes it easier for the unexperienced baking mixture user - But a restaurant chef? Really?) This simplified Dr Oetker product lacks the nice contrast between fine crumbly/crispy texture of the twitches and the rich and creamy quark layer. Sadly, Dr Oetker's TV campaign even made it to Wikipedia but a trained chef should know better - and at least sell it as Dr Oetker's cake rather than Russian. The poppy seed cake was Dr Oetker's "Käsekuchen Kreationen Mohn-Schmand". The service was friendly and attentive. However, a nice cup of tea of good quality and a good, home made piece of cake would suit the location and the home-ish warm first impression much better."
With the large variety of coffee and tea specialties, a visit to Kollers Kurgarten Gaststatte becomes even more attractive.
