"Grits were dry, more of a couscous texture. Corn bread was inedible. Pork steak was over cooked and dry despite being drowned in generic bbq sauce. First time trying, will try again next month and see if it was a fluke."

"It wasn't as bad as it looked. No sauce with rings was offered to ask them. Cheeseries were down, with all that squishing it up on it. No utensils to eat these frits and just a few napkins. It was a mess. But still good."

"I'm really shocked. I had written SnS as a restaurant that was a bowl of his former self. During the pandemic I have seen how to take the quality of my closest SnS nose liver and it is almost never good. I'm not sure if Alton people know how well they have it in this SnS. Staff is friendly and accommodating and our Steak burgers are some of the best we ever had from a SnS. Even our pommes were hot and crispy, something my local SnS hasn't reached for years. The drive thru had impressed us. We paid and had bagged our foods and ready to go no less than 5 seconds after our change. It was so fresh when we sat down. I'm not sure what they do differently there, but O’Fallon and Edwardsville could really remember. Thanks for having a great experience every time."

"I had to repeat my order 3 different time which was only two items. I think you need better ppl at the widow so you business run smoothly. Will not be back. She kept saying can you repeat that. I seriously thought she was messing with me. I had them cancel the whole order and left."

"Went for breakfast and was seated promptly by the pleasant greeter. The restaurant was not busy on this weekday morning. Still waiting to see someone/anyone after 15 minutes. We could hear people talking in the kitchen but no servers present in the dining room. We opted to leave without ordering because no one ever showed up. The waiting area had several people looking around for help (greeter no longer there) when we walked out. I miss the Wood River IHOP where service was great and food was prompt."

"My husband and I celebrated our 48th Anniversary last night and there was NOTHING that could have been improved on. I had filet and he had lamb. Both meals were the best we have had in forever. Awesome presentation. Caring and attentive staff (Melanie rocks). The restaurant reminded us of European cafes that we love. Patio with fireplace. If we lived in Alton, we would be such regulars here. Thank you all for a memorable celebration."
