"Went for the first time on my birthday with my husband, sister and brother in law. First the waitress said we couldn't split the check, but seeing as it wasn't busy she would do it this time! Then she said if we shared anything, she would bring an extra plate and a cup of soup for $8 extra dollars? Food was amazing. The soup was delicious. We all had food left over and the waitress said she would bring us the styrofoam containers otherwise we would be charged for take out containers! Then when she came back to take our payments, she was looking for her pen and thought we took it!?! Of course we didn't and she found it. Second time I went, just hubby and I. We had a different waitress and a different experience. No story to tell you this time. Food was fantastic. Expect to spend a few bucks though."
In nice weather you can even be served in the outdoor area, and there is no-charge WLAN. The rooms on site are accessible, and therefore no problem for visitors with wheelchairs or physiological limitations.

"Went to By the Water Cafe last night for the first time. What a joy to find such a quaint little restaurant in such a surprising spot! Nestled at the end of Pleasant Beach Road right on a pretty sandy beach. It's rustic and beachy to the max! Christine, the owner, is in her second year and has some big plans for the future of the seasonal restaurant as well.She makes everything from scratch, smokes her ribs, pulls her own pork and makes her own sauces as well. my companions had pulled pork sandwiches and they said they were awesome.we had perch dinners, i must say that the perch was a bit heavily breaded for me and deep fried a bit too long. i think a pan-fried option would have been great. That won't deter us from returning though because we really loved the place and can't wait to try other menu options. The sweet potato fries were the best I've ever had though and so was the coleslaw.Dinner was out fast and the prices are totally reasonable. i like that the menu is not a mile long, just do a short menu well instead of a long menu so-so.They have several types of beer and wine to choose from as well. They also have an ice cream stand and a few lovely dessert choices.all in all, the atmosphere is very bohemian and that is such a nice change from the usual restaurants in our small community.i hope Christine does well here as she certainly has a ton of friendly customer service skills."

"My dinner at Kennedy's Cove was alright, but definitely not worth the money... or the sore knees. Our meal started strong with an excellent appetizer: bourbon BBQ bacon. It was seasoned well and cooked to perfection, setting our expectations high. Sadly, it went downhill from there. My wife's veal was passable. However, the salads lacked any character while the twice baked potatoes were surprisingly bland and a bit dry. As if to make up for the lack of flavor, my salmon steak was saturated with pepper; I had to use the sauces they provided just to make the dish edible. My biggest complaint, however, was the space. It's clear the owners try hard to create a great atmosphere. The tank full of exotic fish is a great touch, but I feel they blocked out a little too much of the natural light. The worst, though, was how tightly packed the tables were. I had to sit extremely close to the table in order to leave room for other diners and to comfortably reach my plate; I spent the whole time trying to keep my legs from falling asleep. Mind you, I'm only 6-foot tall, so being that cramped is quite rare for me. As for the service, they were very attentive. Our particular server, struggled to answer our questions but was patient with us. Also, I could tell that the rest of the staff was more experienced and skilled. Overall, I don't feel this restaurant is bad, but it is overrated. I left disappointed, feeling had wasted my time and money.
