"I love the place with good views of the sea and the mountain across the street. "Went with two friends for lunch and menu del dia at 12.50€. Was pleasantly surprised. The service by a young man, Juan, was excellent. Food was very good, pork very good. We seemed to drink some extras but the only addition to the menu charge was 1.50€ for a large water. Will definitely go again."

"I have been passing this place for 3 years now, and been put off by the steps, but wanting to try, because there is often a queue of Spanish workers waiting for tables. That Has to be a Good sign. Finally made it, after being helped up the steps by an impossibly handsome young hidalgo! Once in, I learned that there is a back entrance, which has No steps and plenty of nearby parking, so that will be my future entrance. This is 100% Spanish! Hallelujah! After all the insipid, tourist places, serving poor, overpriced food, with indifferent service, I felt I had come home at last It is no frills built for purpose interior, and full of locals and workers. The menus is in Spanish, the food is Spanish and excellent. A small salad (I was solo) was followed very quickly by paella, which was basically rice with some pork bits, but the best I have eaten in the port for flavour because this family are used to serving people on a time and money budget, it was there in minutes. None of this sitting around in a 'beach ' place for 40 minutes to be served an horrendously overpriced pan of grit! Garlic rabbit, next. I was struggling already, as I don 't eat much in a sitting and these portions are generous. So I brought it home and will heat it up for my meal tonight. I had planned enough room for chocolate torte though! Bread, a small carafe of wine and coffee if I had wanted it, completed the 11€ feast. That is now my place of choice. The family are friendly efficient, and the bar is full of characters. After 13 years in Rural Non English-speaking Spain, I have been missing the country we originally moved for. Now I have found a tiny bit of it again. I only wish I could afford to eat there every day!"
