"We just happened to be passing through Plouhinec around midday in early June 2015 and, knowing that in France one must eat when the restaurants dictate or else go hungry, we took a chance on La Cambuse, even though there were hardly any other customers. What a find! We just went for the 2 course menu, warm goat cheese salad followed by steak and frites. Well, the salad was delicious and inventive and plentiful, quite the best we've had in France, and well on the way to being a main course in itself. Generally in France we've been perplexed by the reluctance to serve greens, but this salad was exceptional. The steak was delicious, cooked to perfection, and big too, so between the salad and the steak we're prepared to forgive the frites (why is it that French restaurants don't offer boiled or even mashed potatoes at midday, instead of the seemingly compulsory frites? . Excellent value for money I think it was about 15.50 euros each exclusive of drinks, typical enough for a midday meal in that region, but very much higher quality than the usual fare at that price. Definitely worth a detour!"
