"On a recent day-trip during a visit to Germany my brother suggested we have "cocktails in the Bodensee". We stopped at the newly renovated large Seehotel am Kaiserstrand (the Emperor's Beach), not far from Bregenz (think summer music festival). We parked in the free parking area in front of the hotel. We walked through the lobby straight out the back onto the patio; from there we walked down to the beach on hotel property, to a walkway leading out to a structure on pilings built into the lake. It houses a small restaurant and a good-size patio where cocktails are served. It also has changing facilities reserved for hotel guests. Although the patio is meant mostly for hotel guests, it and the restaurant are open to the public. Wine, beer, international cocktails and a variety of snacks are served with a smile. The view is spectacular across the lake towards the Austrian and Swiss Alps. The sunset likewise was spectacular that evening as the sun sets just across the lake. Well worth a stop if you want to get away from the hordes of tourists frequenting the Bodensee in summer."

"When I arrived in late evening I had to to sit outside, but it was wind proofed and with warming blankets. The service and my pizza were excellent and cheaper than usually. I can just recommend this tiny restaurant."

"It was a cold winter night, and this place was still open, although very quiet. the decor is a bit shady, but somehow fun and unique. our waiter spoke English and was very pleasant. we ordered a pizza and large salad to share. it was a bit waiting for the food, but that was okay. Once it had arrived, it was just knocked out on the table and we had to go into the bar to ask for tellers and cutlery! eating was very good, no complaining there and the prices appropriate. so good casual eating, but a little in service."

"We visited this place for dinner with our friends and it is one of the best places I have visited. than food the experience was great. Sitting in Austria having dinner and looking at Germany and Switzerland at a distance with lake of Konstanz...below is one of the best experiences. Food is mainly German/Austrian cuisine. We tried the Käsespätzle and Wiener Schnitzel. It was not great but not bad either. I would recommend this place for at least for the experience it offers."
