"We were let down by appalling food elsewhere, and asked pretty late on( 9pm) if on a Friday night they could get the 6 of us in, which given I’m writing this they could.Very welcoming staff, and what I can only describe as one of the best waiters, possibly part owner I have come across.We had varied dishes, I had seafood pasta which was superb, filled with mussels and clams, a number of us had steaks which were also excellent. My wife and I shared a Half bottle of white, and beer and red wine elsewhere. It was my wife’s birthday and knowing this one of my daughter’s arranged a birthday surprise and short notice obviously. The lights dimmed the music played a birthday tune, not the one) and a firework topped cake came out. This was actually 6 small tar tatin’s and very good they were. Two of my daughters present were delighted at my wife’s embarrassment, and so was I, a bit).The aforementioned waiter who was 62 years old, versus my 64, promptly kissed my wife’s head, then mine. Daughters and partners fits of laughter. The service was good, the food was good. We were grateful to get in, but I do not think my judgement is clouded by this. My bank account showed we paid £85 per couple, including sterling transaction fees) , for what was a very good night.Great value, hence 5 out of 5.Ps. Do not be put off by the ‘picture menu’ as we normally are, and it undervalues the food actually produced. This night at least there was a decent chef down in the kitchen, not to mention a variety artist up top."

"Exclusive feel up on the slopes. Beautiful large glass windows, warm fire burning and delicious food. We were offered a range of delicious breads, an amuse-bouche and then our starters of octopus and butternut squash arrived very tasty indeed). This was followed by venison...and a tuna main courses (again delicious). We tried the local beer and rounded the meal off with Tiramusu. This was something else- very classy mountain restaurant."

"During our one week's stay in Cervinia in July, we visited da Mario twice, due to their excellent risotto ai frutti di mare and the view to the mountains from the patio. The owners, an elderly couple who don't speak much English, were very nice, both times. The second time, when we had a reservation, there was also an English speaking waitress. (She might have been their daughter, though I may be wrong. The first time, my seafood risotto was the best risotto I've ever had — the palato was perfect. My wife and our son had pastas, both of which were almost perfectly al dente. The second time, my wife ordered the seafood risotto while I took risotto della casa. This time the palato of the risottos was still very good, but maybe just a slightly bit too soft. Both of the times, the deserts were very good. The tiramisu was among the best I've had (It didn't have amaretto, which I prefer. But that is a matter of taste. Overall, the portions were slightly on the expensive side (pastas and risottos 12–18 euros , but filling enough so that we didn't have secondi. So, based on the experiences and the other reviews, I would assume that you can get excellent food and very good service when the restaurant is not too busy and you are prepared to manage in Italian. However, at the most busy times the quality — perhaps of both food and service — may suffer, most probably just due to the owners' age that may tax their coping skills if there are too may guests at the same time. Overall, I got the feeling that this is very much a family run restaurant. If they like you, they really do. Apparently they liked us — and we them! — but perhaps not everybody writing the reviews has been that lucky."

"One of the best dinner and after ski places in Cervinia, Italy. The atmosphere is amazing and you’re welcome with such heartfelt warmth. It’s said that they have the best hamburger in Cervinia (2024) and that sure is true; a big pulled pork burger together with fries and a beautiful layout. This place is also known for its steaks, and all I have to say is: wow. Amazing, truly. They are located by the slope (number 3 coming from Plan Maison) so it’s a good ski in and out. If you don’t want to ski there, you can easily walk or take the car up there; they have a gorgeous view over Cervinia and the slope from their terrace. OBS: be sure to book a reservation for dinner, they’re quite full. Summarised; this is place is amazing and I truly recommend it"
