"A chilly and windy February day, after walking around Tourtour, our friends led us into La Mimounia. It's the off time of year, so only one other table was occupied. Our host was very friendly toasts and a pepper (poivrons tapenade appeared with the menus... not spicy (unlike the harissa . The servings are hearty and very high quality. (a few items on the menu need to be ordered in advance, as they are freshly made and take either extra time or special ingredients. Check with them when you make your reservation. We ordered the lamb tagine (or tajine ; the La Mimounia couscous with 2 types of kebabs and a small lamb shank, and a vegetable couscous, along with a carafe of red wine. All excellent. Any of the the dishes could have been shared and no one would go hungry (in which case trying a starter would be possible . Finished with a plate of Moroccan pastries (more like cookies 4 kinds, all delicately flavored and not too sweet. Good coffees and mint tea, followed by limoncello. Food is all made on site by our host's mother. All first rate quality they clearly love what they do. In the Mistral, it's best to sit inside a small space, nicely arranged. When it's warmer, the outdoor seating looks like a good way to go"
