"I was so glad to find this Pita Kebab restaurant in Gare Mantes-la-Jolie on the way to Monet's Garden in Giverny. I was tired of French Café Essen and the pictures of Planet Food's offers looked so good. I have the...Kebab Combo and it was delicious- lots of meat and fillings. The service was also great. All for less than 8€. You also have some huge burgers available. The restaurant is about a 3-minute walk from the train station."

"I'll try to tell you our evening in this restaurant and you'll have to make your own opinion. Parking nearby or not is complicated as there is no private parking and it is located on the most route of the village. If you do not reserve attention you will not necessarily be accepted because the kitchen is only prepared according to the reservations or even the restaurant may be closed!! A somewhat original concept for a recent opening February). The reception is perfect, the room is not very large and may become noisy if it is filled. Quick and pleasant service, nothing to say. We're all set. The aperitif is, as the rest is far too expensive: mojito or 10 euros house planter! Then we had only three choices of entrances and dishes because the kitchen being made home...4 accras de morues fade to our taste it is 8 euros, the bite is two small to 8 euros instead they were very good. The excellent and well served chicken Colombo is 19 euros. The desserts are at 8 euros whether it is a fruit salad or anana cake I find it very expensive. Even the coffee is at 3 euros! The half bottle of wine at 9 euros the price has pleasantly surprised us! So a small desire to eat Creole for an addition to two that exceeds 100 euros for our part..more never!! This remains the opinion of a couple accustomed to eating creole from which our remarks on quantity as much as on quality and.. the price of course!!"

"Although it changed owners a few years ago, having been run by the same couple for nearly 20 years, nothing much else has changed. There are two parts to the establishment : the front room with the bar, typically filled at lunchtime with workers requiring...a good, home cooked, 3 course low price fast meal, and the restaurant with an a la carte menu and, obviously, more expensive albeit very reasonably priced. You are made very welcome, and it can be really packed. Plain, good, traditional and no nonsense French cuisine. I have never had any parking issues, which is a plus when travelling with children in particular. Anyway, the proof is in the pudding : the place would not have been running sosuccessfully for so many years without a reason !"
If you crave for sweet treats, Auberge des Roy with its delicious desserts can surely make an end of it, Inthemorning a hearty brunch is offered here.
