"This is a lovely spot to have lunch after a hike in the Cirque de Lescun. Tables are outside with a view of the Pyrenees we saw another restaurant in the town square filled with patrons and were confused why anyone would choose to eat in a deserted square when you could eat instead just a hundred metres away in a more natural and peaceful setting. The meal did not disappoint the portions are plentiful and the food delicious. My husband had the pork shoulder and I had the duck breast both served with a bit of salad and local cheese (brebis) and a generous portion of homemade chips. Even though the owners were sceptical when I asked for my duck well-done, they cooked it to perfection. We ordered a carafe of local rose glasses each absolutely delicious) and we both had desserts the creme brûlée and the pannacotta with blueberries (the latter truly exceptional). They also make a traditional sponge cake with blueberries to take away we ordered that as well (we’ve just had it this evening and it was delicious with a bit of cream)! The whole meal for with wine including the dessert to take away was euros. Best of all, the couple who run this restaurant are so warm and friendly and we had a lovely long chat with them after our meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone going for a walk starting or ending in Lescun (or anything in between)."
If you crave for afters, Les Tables D'en Haut with its fine desserts can easily make an end of it, look forward to the typical fine French cuisine. At the bar, you can still relax after the meal (or during it) with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink.

"We wanted to visit this place after our walk at the Chemin de la Mâture, but unfortunately it was closed. Strange in june, I think. I had to give the place an assessement to be able to tell that the place is not necesarrily open for business."

"Un endroit que l'on aimerait garder confidentiel pour y éviter la foule, car c'est avec bonheur que nous y avons séjourné trois jours / deux nuits. Une vraie bouffée d'oxygène dans cet endroit coupé du monde. La bergerie a été restaurée avec beaucoup de charme, nous avons été impressionné par le courage des propriétaires. Le lieu est très reposant, entouré de nature, de montagnes, de forêts... En espérant avoir l'occasion d'y revenir un jour :-)"

"There aren't many bars/cafes in the centre of Etsaut so Le Randonneur is like a little oasis. They serve drinks until 10pm and also do snacks. Hot panini and a drink is €5,50 and I can personally recommend the Hot Dog panini. It's not at all like a traditional hot dog but it's the usual hot dog meat in a far superior casing!They have indoor seats and 3 outdoor seats. The bar is located right opposite the bus stop so I think it could be a good waiting point for a bus which I'm informed are a bit irregular!Special mention has to go to the young female waitress who has been on duty on both my visits. Always friendly, always smiling. Thank you."
