"I am very glad that I discovered this restaurant, which is unpretentious but offers very good food. Location is convenient - it is a ten-minute leisurely stroll from the railway station and a mere two-minute walk from the Rhine jetty.Make sure to carry the address with you as the Gasthof is hardly noticeable from the outside!It is much recommended to reserve a table. Mine was situated in the so-called "Kaminstube" - the more modern part of the house. Very cozy atmosphere, a few tables with a lot of space between them.Thumbs-up for the excellent service, as it was efficient and unobstrusive at the same time.Food was also quite good: fresh fish from the Bodensee, simply prepared, and presented without unncessary frills.As starter I chose the "Felchenfilets im Bierteig" (Bodensee whitefish baked in beer dough): tasty and the accompanying mayonnaise was to die for. The main course was a simple "Forelle blau mit braunem Butter" (boiled trout served with browned butter): the fish was fresh and boiled to perfection. As dessert do not miss the excellent homemade ice-cream.Obviously the high quality reflects in the rather high price level. My full three-course meal including soda water, wine and coffee cost me nearly CHF100. However paying CHF7,60 for a double espresso is truly shocking!"
