"Have been going regularly since early 2014. Usually for coffee and a scone, but sometimes lunch. This is a cool little cafe/bar with a student feel dark interior with amber lighting cosy in winter. Without knowing, if you looked through the window you'd think it was just that. But at the back is an outside garden area with plenty of seating in summer it's a Newtown oasis. The service is friendly and relaxed usually accurate. Counter food is wholesome and caters for both vegans and carnivores. My usual go to is a date scone, warm with butter, they are delicious and generous. The coffee is usually good but today for some reason it was a bit thin. I think of newtown's cafes, Baobab has the best atmosphere and the most complete range of offerings. Haven't been for dinner but I should. Recommended."

"I was thrilled to try coffee in wellington and find out for me weather auckland or wellington did the best coffee and hands down wellington won this round. this Artsy coffee shop though small has a lot to offer. this ingwer and rhubarb donut was to die, coffee on point, but the cheese toast with dill and pickle stole the show for me"

"Cool cosy little place. Especially if you student, you will love even more. Amazing coffee at very reasonable cost. You can seat there and read if you like. I will highly recommend. You will love coffee. Service was great. They don't have selection of food so don't go with any hope."

"I've been meaning to try the food and coffee in this place for quite awhile as I live nearby (moved here recently from Auckland) and finally got the opportunity to today. I love the feel of the place especially the lighting!(hence the photos lol) I came in at just before lunchtime on a weekday so it was fairly quiet. Had soy flat white which had just the right amount of froth, tasted really nice but nothing special. No complaints cause I'm not very fussy with my flat whites. I paired my coffee with a chocolate doughnut which was really good(one of the better ones I've had in awhile as only been eating Dunkin Donuts in Auckland lol) and tasted really nice, soft and chewy and just the right amount of sweetness. It went really well with my coffee. Also, looking out to Riddiford Street and all its interesting characters made for an overall wonderful experience. Would definitely come back here to try some more of the cabinet food which looks lovely. Wednesday morning well spent."

"Delish smooth mocha!! Cute little set up inside. Also got a broccoli and noodle salad to take away, was good but could have had a bit more dressing of some sort. <br/ <br/ Definitely recommend for a good coffee! Cakes and treats look good also"
