"Have to admit on the drive up to Popty we thought we'd arrived at the wrong place! It isn't much to look at from the outside but don't let that fool you, the pizza's on the inside are well worth it! As a coeliac I booked a table here knowing that they catered for my dietary restrictions, the rest of our party had what looked like (and they confirmed) were excellent wood fire pizzas. My GF option came on a separate base but was delicious nonetheless. Value for money too. Would like to have seen more dessert options especially for little ones but for pizza alone, Popty's is well worth a visit. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"

"With friends in advance called to ask if any gluten-free options and confirms that they can make gf pizza, told me on the phone, what was not GF sauces toppings etc. pizza is cooked in the same big pizza oven as not gf pizza, but cook on a baking sheet to avoid crosscontamination. pizza was big so that definitiw did not feel short changed to compare it with all others! also beautiful cocktails."

"Not sure why this place is so highly reviewed, the food on offer is of very low quality and yet the prices are quite high and it is terrible value for money. Items like the burgers, chicken wings and even the chips are clearly the cheap premade bought-in type that you'd expect to find in the frozen food section of your local cash carry and yet the prices they charge do not reflect this. For instance it's £4.90 for 5 chicken wings, almost £1 per wing. That's just extortionate for what essentially is the cheapest produce they can buy. The kebabs also are not much better, ranging from £6.50 for a small kebab, all the way up to £18.90, with most large kebabs costing roughly £10-11. Again, very high prices and although I wouldn't mind paying this if the food was all prepared lovingly in-house and tasted somewhat special, this really doesn't. It's all very bland, the doner meat being pale and tasteless, the lamb shish being extremely chewy and tough, the chicken dry. Even the pita breads aren't grilled and there's really nothing at all special about the food, so I really don't get the pricing. The salad is okay I guess, basic but seems fresh enough. Of course I realize that there's a market for cheap takeaways that use this type of low-quality produce, especially with students and the like, but this isn't even cheap, it's the type of pricing you'd expect from a gourmet freshly made in-house type of place and this definitely is not that. It's worlds apart from somewhere of that level. I can't comment on the pizzas since I haven't tried them, but I imagine based on the rest that they're the same type of low quality premade affair. The only real positives I can say are that the place seems very clean and that the staff themselves are friendly enough, but all in all I really wouldn't recommend the place. It's far too expensive for what is very bland and poor quality food. It's really nothing special and I have no idea how its managed to get so many positive reviews, perhaps they used to be a lot cheaper in the past? Who knows."
