"Mothers Day treat for my wife (and Mother to our children) for breakfast. Service was EXCELLENT (thanks Janet!), bit the food itself left some lack of quality.The scrambled eggs were runny - barely cooked as it were, and the advertised "hash browns" was just quartered potatoes, fried in grease with green onions thrown on top for colour. Perhaps some truth in advertising needs to be undertaken - either change the menu to reflect the food being served, or change how the food is prepared to match the menu.The Chorizo Omelette was excellent and recommended for anybody looking for a bit of a spicy kick in the morning.Two people,two entrees with coffee, $35 after taxes, but before gratuity is reasonable for hotel pricing (we have paid much more for lower quality/quantity),"

"We were in town for a hockey tournament and decided to make reservations for the team (boys age 10) and parents. We ordered ahead as the game schedule only allowed a window of 2 hours. We arrived ahead of time and were seated. The waitress...took our orders and noted the families by Jersey numbers. Drinks were ordered. I just wanted water with a slice of lemon. Well it never happened as they brought a carafe with ice and water in it and each person was given small hotel size glass, no lemon. The waitress said no problem when she took our drink order. Don't say that if you cannot supply. I had the chicken fingers (not sure if that was what they called them on the menu) with fries. When the meals came the chicken was way over cooked like they had reheated them several times. They waitress saw them and still delivered them. They came with a dipping sauce (the best part of the meal) in a small plastic container with ketchup also in a plastic container. I took a bite of the chicken which had to be literally chomped. It was so dry. It was hot (a good thing) but way over cooked. The fries were cold and the ketchup tasted watered down. Not sure which brand it was. The chicken you could see was overcooked and was a very dark brown. It was like eating wood. Don Cherry would be embarrassed to have his name attached to this order. Not sure what my daughter in law had but she and everyone at our table left their fries. The garbage must have been full of them. I paid and gave the waitress a tip. She was doing her part but should have taken the plate back to the Kitchen. We found out later that they didn't charge for the drinks which I didn't have, just the water. So they obviously knew they blew it and tried to compensate with free drinks. It was not a good experience. Sorry Don it was 2 thumbs down. Will not be going back or recommending this restaurant."

"After 8 hours driving we stopped for dinner at 5pm.The waitress was rude from the get go,acting as if we were a bother.We were the ONLY customers the entire time.After food arrived she turned the lights off In our corner and blared music."

"Good selection of local brews on tap. Probably the best local selection in Smithers. Food was good too. Enjoyed a (giant serving) chowder and a chicken burger. Definitely added to my list of regular places in Smithers. Friendly and helpful servers too."

"Great experience, we came into town in the late afternoon and went to Alpenhorn as it was one of the few places open. Shout-out to Alex for the greay service and for taking the time to explain to us the menu and accommodate and recommend items to our taste. Service, atmosphere and food was great."
