"Lovely spot next to the river across from the town of Montignac. We were here for a quick lunch before our tour at the Lascaux II. We had the daily special- omelette with salad and pork with salad. The omelette was fluffy and delicious. Since I have previously learned how serious the French about their omelette, this is a testimony about that. The pork - I am sure it meant to be eaten cold - was tender, though I really prefer to eat it hot or at least at room temperature."

"Arnaque ! De l'industriel travesti en pseudo gastronomique et en prime une gastro qui a durée deux jours. Même sans cela, l faut oser servir un dessert pompeusement appelé "profiteroles" qui se résume à 4 chouquettes sèches (sorties de la boîte) agrémentées d'une crème insipide et d'un coulis trouvé en grande surface. Il est vrai que le patron fait son show pour donner le change. Allez donc voir au Château de Bouilhac à 500 mètres de là pour voir (pour le même prix) ce qu'est la vraie cuisine."

"I would not have found this little restaurant had it not been for my tendency to wander around villages wherever Im heading. It is not in an obvious location so head for the bridge and it sits quietly just before it. On a sunny morning...as this was, how pretty the terrace to the restaurant looked. I have a thing for red and white gingham appearance tablecloths. I only wanted coffee and perhaps a patisserie and Monsieur (Frederic) had only a Tarte aux Pommes to offer....ah well, off the diet...again. And my photo shows what turned up. Beautifully presented, extremely tasty, that strawberry was so juicy, and great value! For what I was charged for my total bill here, I paid for the little nut cake in the cafe at Belves! The menu generally looks good and if this is the standard that Frederic and Christine turn out, I would say it is a restaurant not to be missed. Im amazed it is not yet on Tripadvisor. Being on holiday and needing just one envelope, seeing they had some mail to be picked up by the postman, I cheekily asked Christine if I could buy one of her envelopes, and she kindly found and gave me one. Lovely people, pretty and quiet location. Do give it a try. I look forward with interest to seeing what other people think!"

"Delicious fresh food. We have eaten here twice so far and will book a table for our last night. I have eaten the trout with tagliatelle very fresh and delicious and we have had the canard , steak and Pizza. All were very good. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant."

"We had the following issues: 1. When the chèvre chaud was delivered it was not warm or hot and when I asked for it to be warmed up the waitress said this was not possible without even referring to the chef 2. When the civet was presented it was almost cold as were the sarladaise potatoes plus greasy and flabby 3. The waitress was surly and unhelpful 4. The guest next to us pointed out that the chair he was sat on was broken and dangerous but she said it was fine we checked and it needed to be thrown out or fixed 5. Madame Janine did come and ask how our meal was but being English we just nodded politely but on reflection felt that something needed to be said to preserve her reputation 6. We had heard many good reports of this restaurant but the food was average and very disappointing if they do not change then the good reputation will vanish."
