"After a 14km cycle in 30+ temperatures, we stopped off for drinks and a portion of chips, which cost an outrageous 9.50. After paying for the bill, I asked for a glass of tap water for my wife. The lady behind the bar proceeded to pour a wine glass measure of water and after asking for a larger glass, I was told that anything larger is not “gratis”. I think that’s an atrocious attitude given the current heatwave. It’s not as if we’d sat and only drank water; we’d spend almost 25. on drinks and food. Most establishments would be happy to serve cold water to guests. We will not be returning in a hurry."
