"The Real Deal. Inexpensive traditionally prepared Provençal cuisine with modern twists. We’ve been coming here for at least 10 years and it never fails to delight. Portions are huge….a seared tuna prepared perfectly was so large it fed two for lunch the next day! Ecrevisse delicious and piled high. Be sure to book in advance due to small number of tables and its popularity. Don’t miss, worth traveling for. St Sat is more calm and less hectic that the other hilltop towns nearby."

"Having been to the neighbouring La Fontaine restaurant we were recommended by a friend to also try Bar des Amis for a more simple Steak Frites affair.We arrived for lunch in the beautiful Place de Fontaine square on a warm day in July. The restaurant only had one outside table left but we sat and were quickly offered the menus. Ordered the house rose which, as usual in Provence, was very good. Being hungry we opted to go straight to the main course - Steak Frites for me and the agneau for my partner. Both were excellent and the portion size good. For desert salted caramel ice cream which was very moreish. The friendly, unrushed but prompt service was just what was needed in the surroundings and 2/5 hours seemed to disappear as quickly as the wine.We were surprised when we were given the bill as we thought they’d missed something it was such good value.Next time I’m back in Provence I will be going here more than once."
