"My wife and I were staying at the hotel, so took the opportunity to eat in the restaurant to save driving into town, and we were glad that we did. After a whisky aperitif on the garden terrace, we were shown to our table in the conservatory restaurant, and looked after very well by the friendly staff. With several differently priced menus to choose from, we each plumped for the 30 euro one. My wife had the king prawns starter (flambeed at the table) while I had the carpaccio of beef with pear sorbet. We each had a beautifully cooked steak with vegetables with which we enjoyed an excellent claret chosen from the extensive wine list, and for dessert my wife opted for the opera cake while I enjoyed my baked alaska (again flambeed at the table). A delicious coffee from the extensive coffee menu completed an enjoyable and memorable meal."
