"On aurait été tenté de dire aussi " c'était osé "...Poser un container à coté de la Coop Bio , ça a dû faire jaser sur les coteaux ... Pourtant sur cette petite terrasse bien décorée n'est pas qu' un repaire pour Vegans ou biophiles endurcis...Certes ces derniers pourront y trouver quelques assiettes à leur goût , mais les amateurs de viande pourront se régaler de viande rouge ( Burgers extras) et autres volailles moelleuses achetées localement .Ceux qui aiment " voyager" sans a prioris pourront quand même essayer le bol au soja pané , relevé d'une sauce japonaise , autour d'un riz vinaigré , gingembre , feuille nori..Le jeune chef assure seul , mais avec brio, la conduite du " camion" C'est un plaisir de le voir jouer de son piano champêtre ...Tout autant aussi d'être servi par sa "moitié" , gentille et efficace .Bref , un endroit et un concept hors des sentiers battus où l'on se sent "simplement" bien..."

"August 2020, it is hot again. After strolling through St. Léon we look for a place for lunch. The terrace of restaurant de la Poste shows several empty tables. We enter. Then the big question: have you made a reservation ? Eh...... sorry, no. The waitress turns to her chef and .... we find a table. After a few minutes the waitress coms to the table for the menu-cards and what we would like to drink. Those drinks also arrive after a few minutes and we make a choice. As starter we have a delicious foie gras de canard. What else in the Dordogne ? After that a menu du chef . A three course meal of very sufficient portions. Ending wit an espresso. The terrace is really next to the road. So like many places in France: vehicles pass next to you. Strange enough: you smell nothing of them . A very nice place to have your lunch. If you go there: walk into the place: at the backside they have a tree-shadowed court. But we noticed it too late."

"Things started very well: the beer, rose and starters came out fine, all most enjoyable. However, things took a severe turn for the worse when the main course arrived. My girlfriend is Brazilian and likes her meat well-cooked. Her lamb was certainly slightly better done than is usual in France, but it also contained a nasty surprise, camouflaged in the dark sauce: a well-smoked cigarette butt, complete with cardboard roach/ filter. My girlfriend initially kept quiet, but when my brother noticed our disgust, marched into the kitchen with the plate demanding an explanation. The chef claimed it was "impossible" and suggested that the butt had been placed there by one of us. He offered us another plate of lamb which we accepted. The replacement was brought to the table by the manager (rather than the chef) who repeated indignantly that it was impossible that anyone had deliberately placed the butt there and that the reputation of the restaurant was beyond reproach. After the set menu desserts had been served, she reappeared to serve us all with free digestifs, mentioning that she now suspected someone on the staff. All in all, a real shame this. Not only because the food generally was good, but also because it tarnished the end of an otherwise great family holiday. I believe the butt was left there as an 'educational' message to those who don't like their lamb 'saignant.' I certainly hope such misplaced snobbery loses them custom."
