"I think I'm a kind of expert when it comes to Chinese food. I ate it first in Tapei, Taiwan many years ago. I've eaten it ever since. Most of my experiences were in Houston, Texas, where there is a very big Chinatown. I'm talking big! I just eaten over any kind of authentic Chinese food. I usually ate in restaurants that only have Chinese customers... So we're really talking about a deal. Building on it and moving to Mexico... I found it almost impossible to find a decent Chinese meal here in Queretaro, and this also includes in the capital of this state. There are restaurants that want to be considered as Chinese restaurants, but they leave compared to other Chinese restaurants that I previously had eaten in the USA. And what's most ironic to me are here in the state of Queretaro owned and operated by Chinese, so you'd think you'd get a good meal, but that just doesn't happen. My guess is, it is very difficult to get the ingredients and vegetables that are common for Chinese cuisine in Central Mexico. And I think the Chinese who consider themselves to be chefs here must have changed oil in the car repair shops in China, because their food seems to be quite oily to me. You couldn't have been real chefs in China for me. But all this has changed for me since I discovered China King in San Juan del Rio, Qro. Two wonderful people, man and woman, are the reason why. His food is very good, but it is even better if you ask him to cook something special, that is not on their menu. I like to order Kung Pao Shrimp. Or Chow Fun noodles. Or Egg Fu Yung. Maybe some tofu with thin sliced pork in a garlic seasoned brown sauce. You have the idea... you have to ask for the good stuff. Your buffet food is good, but not as good as something hot, with a bowl of steamed rice... right from the wok. Unfortunately, they do not always have the ingredients to cook on hand, what you want if you want it. Many vegetables are seasonal if you find them here at all. But most of the time they do. I recommend you to call them in advance and tell them what you want to eat and if they can, they will get what they need to do what you want. I like Bok Choy too. And the woman makes a big iced tea. It is added from Oolong tea leaves and either lemon or orange. Very refreshing and delicious. You can also get hot Chinese tea. If you want the loose tea type of Chinese tea, you need to ask. If not, get the standard type of restaurant Chinese tea in a tea bag. It's okay, but not what I like personally. She also makes great pastries, but you have to ask them. She's such a treasure. Always Bouncy and pleasant. By the way, her name is Vicky. She does her best to enjoy your meal there. The service is really good. The place is clean... and... this is also important... I've never been sick of a meal served there. You would be surprised how many restaurants that serve food you can get sick of. All Chinese foods are cooked at very high temperatures! My son got fatally ill food in a so-called Chinese restaurant in Jalisco. He literally (he first ate in China King, based on my recommendation, and liked her food very much. One can imagine his hesitation trying out a new Chinese restaurant after it was deadly ill to eat in a jalisco. I feel absolutely safe to eat at the China King! Do I recommend this place? That would be cruel. For you, that's it. Not only will you eat and enjoy there, you will also introduce friends and family to this place. If you like egg rolls, ask for a Beijing duck sauce and then a Chinese must to mix with it. Dive your egg rolls in this combination and you will love it! If you do not ask, they will not serve you. I learned this tasteful trick in Houston's Chinatown. They are also open 7 days a week. You are located next to Banco Santander in San Juan del Rio, Qro. If you can find Banco Santander, find China King."
A visit to China King is particularly valuable due to the comprehensive range of coffee and tea specialties, Many visitors find it particularly great that they can try the versatile, tasty Chinese cuisine.

"There were only a couple of vegan friendly options (they make food from scratch, so you can easily ask for it not to have animal products), and the menu was a bit expensive to be honest, especially for the dish sizes (which aren't That big), but the food and drinks were really good"
