"The relatively new restaurant Auerhahn on the Sommerberg high above Bad Wildbad was warmly recommended to me by friends a few months ago. It is very prominently located just a few steps from the mountain station of the summer mountain railway (one very popular cable car with tourists and hikers). Whoever breaks from the mountain station to a hike and the treetop trail inevitably passes here. This is a great location advantage that already contributes to the success of a local. So I was very excited about the culinary offer. I'm sending out my disappointment. But perhaps for the beer garden I visited are simply different criteria – and the hotel and the actual restaurant operate in a completely different league? It would be desirable. Because what I experienced in the beer garden was really under all the cannon. The menu of the restaurant has solid Swabian dishes, vasper and children's offers. In the spacious beer garden, which borders directly to the building of the mountain station of the summer mountain railway and is very sunny, however, only a limited map applies. This is certainly aimed at the needs of hikers and athletes and mountain bikers: sausages, meat-loaded, vesper, sausage salad, small nutritious dishes. A clear selection of popular drinks: soft drinks, coffee, beer, wine, water. Sheet metal cake in various variants. It's self-service. The area is very spacious and you feel almost like at the Volksfest. At the same time, the solar plateau has a very inviting effect and you can easily turn into large groups. Either before an enterprise to strengthen or after an experience to relax. The counter is huge. On the right, the drinks are beaten, on the left. All well understandable and super clear. Behind the bar is only youthful, dynamic staff. Actually, I decided to get a number after the food order, which is called after completion. I was so surprised that I didn't have to wait... After visiting the treetop trail, I wanted to eat some freshness on an unusually hot spring Saturday. My choice fell on the salad with Balkan cheese. The first disappointment felt like a misunderstanding. Instead of the expected salad plate, I got a cardboard box and also some cheese cubes in a plastic box. A packed dressing in a portion size. Even in the boarding bistro of the Deutsche Bahn it is more human. At first, I guess I got a little irritated, but then I quickly surrender to my fate. I had to meet myself. The Cola was in a bottle. I hardly want to report on the taste of the salad. The contents of the cardboard box consisted of 90% of thread salad leaves and 10% of corn grains and 2 completely taste-neutral tomato ants and 3 cucumber slices. Only the “Balkankäse” (what is that supposed to be?) was through the brine in which it floats, halfway edible. A real disaster. To demand 6.90 euros, about 6.90 euros are too much. This seemed to me colossal after soulless mass destruction – without any gastronomic ambition and any basic commitment. To blame the youngsters behind the vault, I was unfit. So I mutilated through the greenery and enjoyed the sun for it (and was looking forward to my dinner. Sitting in this huge beer garden by the way can be done at tables with chairs (sometimes even with tablecloths and those with beer benches. The well-maintained and modern toilets can be hidden away and easily so that not the customers of this free offer. I would like to test the Auerhahn from the inside again on another occasion. The beer garden is, in any case, a great disappointment and will not meet the recommendations that have been made to me."

"My dayd father and I spent a few days in the Sonnenhof. We were warmly greeted by the family's mouth and felt very comfortable. Rooms are simple, practical and clean. Especially we enjoyed the beautiful balcony. We had half board, as I have problems with individual foods, I had to adjust the menu in part. All changes and wishes were welcomed and implemented. We felt very comfortable and well kept in the Sonnenhof. Bad Wildbad is suitable for enjoying hikes, walks, biking or relaxation. With the local guest card you can get to the city by train without any problems if you want to shop. We will definitely return to the Sonnenhof. Thank you very much."
