"We haven't been to this restaurant in a while but decided to go back there. We booked a table for 4. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. We were seated but left waiting a good 10 minutes before we were offered a drink. The...menu has changed since our last visit and seemed a tad expensive. We ordered our food and again waited a fair length of time considering customers who sat down after us were happily eating their dinner. When our food arrived it was lukewarm and very greasy which was masked by smothering it in chilli. We paid our bill and left feeling deflated as this used to be lovely. It seems that it has been taken over by new people of which the restaurant has lost it's former quality. We will not be returning any time soon."

"Finally, 3 of us (kew, lee and I) returned after a slight 10 years (probably 15 years) after the maharajah, since we came last! the maharajah was our regular food spot after drinking in bexley village, before we all left or changed jobs, many had a good night there, so last night was the test to see if it had changed and lived up to its earlier great memories. first, the restaurant is now bigger, they have added an additional bit on the back, so its now actually huge in comparison to earlier. our favorite little chat star that we all agreed was not the same as we remember it was missing from the kick he had in the past with his new design, but that was made easy with the main course. we ordered everything we could remember so that the chicken jalfrezi, chicken madras, lamb gosht silsila, tandoori mix, onion bahjees, keema naan, bullet (chilli) naan, various rice, popadoms and the usual and it was fantastic. all washed with cobra bier. a firm for the 3 of us, but we managed to eat quite a lot. as always the employees were amazing (I might even have recognized some of them when we visited 10-15 years ago). anyway happy christmas to all in the maharajah, it was great to visit again after so long time!"

"My usual go to restaurant was closed and Aligor was recommended. I placed my delivery order at and was told it would be about minutes, no problem, it’s New Year and they’re busy. Nearly hours and calls later I finally spoke...to someone who informed me it would be at least another minutes. At this I decided to collect it myself. Arrived at the restaurant and was horrified to find others also collecting because of the delays. While I was there (another mins) my daughter rang and asked me to collect hers. While trying to pay, the staff member answered the phone to another customer mid payment and I had to ask him to put the phone down. He also tried to charge the full amount and not give me the collection discount. I’d like to say things improved when I got the food home but alas no. My daughter had a naan missing but, to give them their due, a replacement was promptly delivered to her along with a bottle of beer. I was very disappointed with our food. The onion bhajis were just a pile of onions (see photo) and swimming in grease, as were my daughters chips. My biryani tasted ok but again very greasy. As this was my first take away from this restaurant I will not be in a hurry to go back, if at all."

"Review of Old Bexley Greek Taverna. My partner and I visited the Old Bexley Greek Taverna on 14.02.2010 and all I can say is the restaurant, the staff and the food was fantastic.
