"San Mamete is a small place occupying an enviable location of the shores of Lake Lugano. Whilst staying in the village we came across this small restaurant and B&B located on the main road opposite the public car park by the lake. From the outside it is rather unprepossessing, but, looking for somewhere different to eat in the village, we thought we'd try it for dinner. The printed menu listed fairly familiar dishes such as lasagne and spaghetti Bolognese but the lovely friendly owner, with his perfect English, also produced a blackboard of regional dishes and specials. I had an excellent insalate caprese to start, followed by one of the specials, Pizzoccheri, (a local pasta dish which was excellent. My husband joined me on the Pizzoccheri with melon and Serrano ham to start. The quality of the ingredients was superb and the dishes perfectly cooked and served by the friendly waitress. For dessert I tried the homemade tiramisu, which was as excellent as I had hoped, as was the limoncello!!! We had only intended to eat there the one night but enjoyed, ourselves so much, we went back again the next evening (when roast beef was on the menu!"

"If I hadn't received a tip from a friend, I would never have gone here because the place doesn't look nice. BUT the pizzas are very tasty and cost 6.50 to 7.50 euros. No money. Friendly hardworking pizza chef. Please note: they only take cash. Fortunately, there is an ATM around the corner. So share this tip! "Coffe and aperol were great but the whole experience was ruined by the older lady taking the orders who was unfriendly, rudely waved her finger instead of just saying „no“ or „we don‘t have“, threw the bill on the table and ignored us for 10 min when we wanted to pay. Good drinks unfortunately don‘t make up for poor behaviour."

"We ordered two toasts and a pizza and were told by a very unfriendly waitress that the wait time is 40 minutes, at least. A great pizza takes 20 minutes and a toast less than 10. Only because there was a table of 4 kids with pizzas in their hands, I can't imagine the chef being overtasked. Maybe it was the unfriendly waitress that made us just get up and leave for the other adjacent Bar where we were very well served. Good luck if you decided to visit Tris Bar!"
