"One thing that needs to be clarified is that ice cream is a British tradition forever. There are many visitors who think how cold it is here people don't drink ice cream. And here the one who writes has taken a mint and chocolate ice cream at 18 o'clock in the final fall of the highlands. Being a coffee shop we have the option to take what we ask or sit down and try our order in one of the few tables overlooking the central square of the village, which is not bad and some place will greet us kindly as we look at ourselves, nothing happens, everything very local, we greet and we continue to eat. "Had a lovely time in this hotel in Aberfeldy which we booked very last minute for nights to bring in New Year. Staff were excellent, very pleasant and made us feel welcome, chatty and helpful. Hotel is very comfy, plenty of care taken re. Covid. Food excellent, great breakfast each morning. Definitely going back in the Spring. Aberfeldy great place to visit, The Birks well worth the walk, plenty of stunning waterfalls. Had a great relaxing New Year break."

"On arriving your not only greeted by attentive wonderful staff but also glorious views of the surrounding countryside. A window as you enter the premises give you a peek in to the kitchen which looked immaculate. I would certainly recommend requesting a table at the windows as the views on both sides are stunning, one side looking out over the hills and the other side looking on to the well maintained gardens. An extensive drinks menu with a few non alcoholic beers was good as I imagine like us most would require a car to get here. The menu was really varied with dishes from Africa, Mexico and Scotland. There was no starters however I'm sure a main shared between 2 would make a good starter. We opted to share the warm bread and oil and it was delicious, 3 verieties of breads paired with an oil that had hints of apricot. The mains we ordered were well presented and the lamb skewer that I had was juicy and bursting with flavour although it was a little hard to eat without making a full of myself . Staff were pleasant and regularly checked in on us. The cheesecake was lovely. On leaving passing the kitchen the chef's gave us a pleasant wave goodbye and must have spotted us trying to take a selfie so came out and offered to take a photo of us with the stunning views behind. I would thoroughly recommend Thyme and it's well worth the effort to get to if staying a little further afield."

"It was a very pleasant, unexpected discovery! I had a very tasty suppe with a stunning view of nature. I spent another hour or so through the books in the shop they have a great choice!"
