"These reviews were obviously all posted by staff. The food here is not authentic italian. it tastes like it comes from cans and packages. the service was poor. it took me 3 minutes to get greeted by a host and the restaurant was almost empty. the waiter who attended me was extremely inattentive and had a smug sort of detachment that I don’t expect from an italian restaurant. the fork that they gave me had dried lettuce plastered on it. it just doesn’t seem like a clean place."

"I’m usually not one to complain…but my recent experiences at San Remo Italian Restaurant in Boynton Beach have lent me to warn my friends. I love supporting local businesses and recently purchased a “Gift Certificate” from SouthFloridaDines.com. I love SouthfloridaDines.com…they support the community and provide a great service. I had previously tried San Remo when they offered a coupon in the Clipper magazine. The coupon was for 20% off off the total bill. My husband and I, knowing we were going to save a little, decided to splurge and indulge. We ordered drinks and apps, an entree each and dessert. The food and the wait staff were excellent. When presented with the bill we gave our coupon and were then told they would not be honoring it. After much discussion, the manager decided to “do us a favor” and honor the coupon. He really had no valid reason not to and made us feel uncomfortable. Because the food was so delicious, we decided to give them another try. We took our daughter anticipating the great Shrimp Risotto they offer. We were seated at 7:00 PM. We ordered drinks and entrees. Lobster Ravioli and Shrimp Risotto. We were brought salads and bread right away…then we waited; for approximately 50 minutes. The wait staff was prompt and attentive and apologized often that the kitchen was behind. The food, again, was excellent. So when SouthFloridaDines.com offered a gift certificate for purchase to San Remo, we decided to give them one more try. The only stipulation on the certificate was “dine in only.” This Saturday we took our friends to San Remo, anticipating using our gift certificate for drinks and dessert. Their desserts are delicious. Having had trouble with them before using a coupon, we presented our gift certificate in advance and were told we had to purchase an entrée. We explained that this was not a coupon, it was a gift certificate that we had previously purchased and the only stipulation was for “dine in only.” The manager took the gift certificate and came back…angry…and told us that “dine in only” means you have to purchase and entrée. We were so embarrassed in front of our friends…as we tried to calmly reason with her that dine in only means just that. It refers to eating in the restaurant vs. take-out. When we mentioned we would like to then just have our money back, she told us to call SouthFloridaDines.com and take it up with them, which we did. SouthFloridaDines.com truly the ultimate professional, credited our account immediately. Unfortunately the un-professionalism of San Remo Italian Restaurant: 1880 North Congress Avenue #190 Boynton Beach, FL 33426 (561) 732-4041, leaves us with nothing but disappointment. We will not be giving them a fourth chance."
