"Staff were lovely could not fault customer service. The shop was spacious and very clean. I brought grilled calamari with chips. The chips were very yummy and calamari was perfectly cooked. The only thing id suggest is more seasoning on the calamari but it was still very yummy. Calamari is hard to cook but they got it perfectly tender. I would recommend this place and definitely visit it again. Parking: park amongst other shops, you can find sone bargains. Kid-friendliness: They were very sweet to my children Wheelchair accessibility: very spacious shop"

"Got a box of fish n chips with 10 dollars. Not as bad as I was expecting. Fish is well seasoned and chips are evenly covered with chicken salt. Wouldn't recommend anything except the fish and chips box on Monday and Tuesday as everything on the menu are overpriced without the discount and not as fresh based on past experience. Bigger portion size and better quality fish was expected given the price yet I got a cheap basa fillet."

"Sometimes the best things in life are the simple things done right. Take good old fashioned burgers for example. These days we 're inundated with burgers that are ridiculous in size, ingredients, sauces, all for the sake of Instagram and the infatuation today 's generation has with technology and making things bigger and crazier all for likes, followers, and the general craving for attention and self assurance that comes with having an online personality. Sometimes, you don 't want a burger that looks like something that was created in a science lab, or a burger with so many components that the menu description looks more like a University thesis than a menu. This is where Scott 's Takeaway, a hideaway little take away shop located in the back of Glenfield comes into its own. Scott 's takeaway is one of the last bastions of your 'old school ' style milk bar. Sure, it doesn 't do milkshakes, but it 's a great little takeaway shop that does a couple of burger options, fish n chips, chiko rolls, ice creams, and that 's basically it. It 's got one of those claw machines out the front, and aside from a drinks fridge, nothing else. It’s basic. It’s no frills. It’s cheap, and it’s bloody good to have it just up the road from me! I’ve been a few times now, having picked up some burgers and chips with the missus’ family for a quick, easy lunch. Swung by last week for that exact purpose before work, and you just can’t not love the simplicity of the place. I’m presuming the owner is called Scott, because it’s the same bloke behind the counter each time manning the grill and fryer. I ordered the beef burger, the missus went with the chicken burger (both with chips) and we also picked up some fish cocktails and potato scallops for the missus’ mum. Take note, these aren’t fresh fish cocktails and fish fillets from the fish markets that day! It’s the old school pre battered selection that sits in in the display window until it’s cooked, but who cares?! It’s old school, and if it’s still cooked right, they taste bloody delicious! We picked all that up for under $25 which is phenomenal value. Being the only people in the store on Monday, the meals were cooked right in front of us immediately, and after waiting 10 minutes we happily spent close to $10 on the claw machine knowing full well we’d lose our money trying to get the little bouncy ball(s) emblazoned with Rugby League clubs on them out – our meals were handed to us, hot and greasy. The only thing that’d have made that bit better is if it were wrapped in old school butchers/newspaper. Back at home we tucked in to what was just a simply great modest lunch. My beef burger couldn’t have been more simple. A thin, but well seasoned beef patty on a sesame seed bun, with caramelized onions, a smattering of chopped iceberg lettuce, and barbeque sauce. About as no frills as a burger could possibly get. Aside from the beef patty probably being a tad overcooked, it hit the spot sweeter than David Warner smashing a 6. The thick cut fries were cooked beautifully, and were consistently crunchy whist being soft and moist in the middle. None of this shoe string fries’ nonsense that every man and his dog now serve up. As much as I love a good Bar Luca or fancy burger from time to time, I don’t think one of them could satisfy me like this one did. Perfect size, perfect ingredients. The only thing missing, was an ice cold beer. The missus’ loved her chicken burger which was a pre crumbed/battered chicken fillet with lettuce and mayo, and her mum loved her scallops and fish cocktails, despite not being overly hungry, and finished them all off with a bit of finger licking to go with it. Remember how your parents always used to reminisce to you about the good old days of the Milk Bar. Growing up I was lucky enough to have a milk bar in my suburb but I don’t remember them doing food. Unfortunately, there’s not too many left especially in suburbia, and they’ve been replaced by McDonalds, KFC, Hungry Jacks and every other infamous exported American fast food chain that has the charisma of week old roadkill. Scott’s might be one of the last few remaining. It’s basic, it’s no frills, and I love it. Now that I live a not too far drive away, I can see me heading to Scott’s for a cheeky beef burger, and put half my pay check through his goddamn claw machine on a regular basis. I know definitely I’d rather pay for a burger from a local small business owner than an American franchise every day of the week ending in Y, and twice on Sundays!"

"Rocked up wednesday 5.45pm for diner.Few empty seats inside, we asked to sit inside but they said cant do it's reserved and they're booked. But the girl at the front did not even have a booking list nor did she consult us or anyone who came whether they have booked or not so obv they're lying. We were seated outside and throughout the night saw other people who asked for a table being allowed to choose whether they want to sit inside or not,mainly Caucasian inside, asian outside. Racism much guys? Why the need to lie"

"I make the trip to sydney quite common and always make a beeline to the chiefs. the best burgers between sydney and coffs harbour. Eat is always fresh, crispy salad, delicious fresh planks, tomato and a decent size bark patty cooked without oil. service is as...fast as they expect and is only cooked after they will leave the big chains for dead and not with fat as the offers of some of the less farmed. the prices are reasonable and the service friendly."
