"We arrived to find most of the tables occupied by single men, who looked like Spanish workers. The waitress who approached us just said ‘English’, ! When I replied yes, she told me in Spanish that she didn’t speak English, I replied no problem, I speak a little Spanish and just wanted the meal of the day at €7.50. No menu was available, it was pretty set depending on what day you visit. It was very basic, offering soup or pasta starter, served with bread. Main course was paella. Both courses were served on cold plates and barely warm. This is quite common in Spain! Desert was ‘natilla’, (cream), ..Either coffee or vanilla flavour, served with a soggy rich tea biscuit in the middle. A drink was included in the price. The opening hours are limited. We were the only non Spanish present and felt like we were intrusive. The service was prompt and waitress seemed friendly but not a word of English. Did not see anyone given a bill, everyone just handing over their cash at the counter before leaving. Seemed a typical working persons cafe/bar. Not an experience we shall be repeating in a hurry."
