"We got off the ferry hungry, and the Schwanen Hotel and its associated restaurant are the nearest to the landing stage. The tables set outside on the veranda looked inviting so we stopped there.Well. Turned out this was not going to be an ordinary Sunday lunch. The service was friendly, skillful and attentive and the food was quite outstanding. We chose a bottle of Swiss red wine to go with the meal and finished it off with a glass of Swiss dessert wine which was extremely pleasant.I had the Dijon Champagne Mustard soup, my partner the goose liver variations. Both starters were excellent. My main course was medallions of beef with goose liver. The meat was cooked to perfection, exactly as I wanted it, and the goose liver exceeded my expectations. The food was rich, tasty, but not old-fashioned.It must be said we spent more than we intended to, but it was a great meal. If you're looking for fine dining in Rapperswil this may be the place to go. It certainly was for us."
