"We had a takeaway on our way home from holiday. Both had scampi and chips. It was awful. The scampi was overcooked and the chips were soggy and anaemic. Only ate it as we were hungry but felt like giving it to the seagulls nearby. It was also served in a paper bag!!!?? Never had that before. The Bervie chipper used to have a good name in the area-don't know what has happened to it. Won't go there again."

"We ordered two picnic boxes last weekend for a special family picnic. The food was absolutely delicious, all freshly homemade and very good value for money. We had plenty for 4 adults and a toddler and still had left overs to enjoy the next day too. Looking forward to ordering again."

"Has to be the very best fish and chips, I have visited both the restaurant and take away, both are excellent. The staff are top class, and the food is amazing, sitting outside overlooking the harbour has to be the best location for a fish and chip shop, massive selection of meals, I cannot fault it. sadly Yelp show t as Montrose, it is just outside Inverbervie in a real Scottish fishing village called Gourdon. If you are on the coast road, well worth a visit closed Monday and Tuesday, but times change so best to check"

"This food van beside Gourdon has been taken over and renamed The Big Bite . My daughter and i walked out from Inverbervie for a late lunch. There was a good variety of food including soup, paninis and meals such as chicken curry as well as the usuals associated with a roadside eatery burgers, hotdogs, chips etc). I had the cheeseburger and chips whilst my daughter had chips. Portion size was generous. The chips were chunky, golden and perfectly cooked, the burger came in a large roll with grated cheese and tasted nice. With 2 cans of fizzy juice, total cost was £8.50, very reasonable. The couple running the van were friendly and there was a constant flow of customers as we sat inside and ate our lunch. Recommended."
