"This was our first holiday away of the year. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you in the Mallard suite and the food was fantastic! all of the staff we encountered were very professional , respectful and also highly attentive. This is a fantastic place to stay and dine in Brockenhurst with beautiful walks only a short distance away too. You will not be disappointed with your visit. We hope to be back soon ! . "The hotel is lovely, But we asked if there was more than one restaurant, and we were told no. But after being seated , it was clear there were two other places to have something to eat.. In fact, three, if you count the mostly vegetarian option, at the spa although it is for hotel guests, unless they have room) Unfortunately, it must be hard to find great staff, because over and over again, our waited kept repeating to us, only starters, Only starters , making us feel badly, that we only ordered a light lunch. There were so many heads of house... it was a shame, they could engage in better training for staff, especially as many don 't have a fantastic command of the language, that it sort of spoiled our experience, we are in England, where the food is now... better than most of the french ones."

"The pub is very nice, lovely inside, the staff were very polite and the food came out in good time but that's where the good times ended. I ordered the Ploughman's, which was described as a sharing meal, for 2. What you get is 1 scotch egg, cut in half, some soggy salt beef, bread that was wet, like it had been defrosted, a pile of wilted rocket and cheese, albeit a good portion of cheese. That was it, for £24 it felt like a big over charge and sub-par food. My mrs ordered a bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich, which was ok but nothing to write home about. All in all, the two meals, 2 drinks and 1 soft drink came to nearly £60 and I honestly can't understand how it can be justified, we've eaten better food, multiple courses for less money and enjoyed it more. Maybe we had a bad day there, I don't know, but with other options on the same street I can't imagine ever going back."

"We were sat at the table for 30 minutes before having to go and get the waiter who stated he had forgotten about us. The food then came which was nice although the Thai curry wasn’t the most full of flavour. We then waited a long time after we had finished and weren’t asked if we wanted pudding, which we did but waited so long we had to leave. I also did not get the pudding that comes with the kids meal. It is also VERY expensive. £27 for a curry and a pint!"
