"Used to be my favorite place to eat. But I can see why this place gets bad review and dwindling down. No one was there. There were 4 man at the front. The cashier asked if I want rice or noodle, extra chicken? Which I said no, and sauces on top of the chicken? I said no. I wonder what makes he asked those questions?? They never asked things like that before. Anyhow. The container has changed. Smaller and shallower styrofoam container. Price up and less food. I took picture of my food and you can see how much ratio of rice , veggies and chicken. Will I come back again? No. Goodbye Sarku Japan."

"Unfortunately, we didn 't get to taste the food. We were nearly finished placing our order, when the waitress (owner? suddenly said out of the blue, Forget it! Forget it! I 'm not going to serve you. She angrily threw the menus on the table (making a loud thwacking sound . We were shocked. She then said, Yes, you have to leave. As we walked out (completely stunned , she said, You are s s s YOU S My son started laughing because it was so weird, but my wife and I felt unsafe. We are a lesbian couple, so all I can figure is that this was some seriously homophobic BS. And coming so close after many recent attacks on LGBTQ folks in this country, it does make sense. I 'm reeling. We got out safely but what 's next? Avoid this place like the plague. Something is really really wrong here. And the food? Who knows? Who cares?"

"This review is for takeout only (covid). Got to thousand oaks around 8, looking for a quick bite for a late dinner. They start happy hour pricing at 8:30, so waited a bit before placing our order on the phone. Customer service was very helpful with helping us find the menu online. Generous portions for a great price during happy hour and tasty! Definitely took care of our sushi cravings"
