"We stopped here for lunch during our visit to Stein Am Rhein. We had no idea what Rosti (kind of like a large hash brown) was but decided to give it a try. I had the pork in the mushroom cream sauce with the Rosti and my husband had schnitzel with the Rosti. It was very delicious and more than we could eat. Very beautiful setting to enjoy lunch as well."

"Das Restaurant Burgrain liegt ca. 30 Minuten von Luzern entfernt am Fusse des Napfes. Es gehört zu einem Zusammenschluss von Biobauern aus der Innerschweiz, die lokal, biologisch und direkt ihre Produkte verkaufen. Auf dem dem Bauernhof findet sich neben der Stube auch ein Schaukäserei, ein ausgezeichneter Bioladen und verschiedene Tiere (wie Pferde, Wollschweine, etc). Zudem kann das eMobil auch aufgeladen werden.Das Essensaal der Stube ist in der alten und nun modern umgebauten Scheune mit Blick in den gesamten Dachstuhl, gleich neben dem grossen Holzbackofen und der offenen Küche. Das Essen ist modern, ausgewogen und sehr fein abgeschmeckt. Die Produkte kommen alle aus der Region und sind sehr apart zusammengestellt. Wirklich ein Gaumenschmaus. Gerade am Abend lohnt sich eine Reservation."

"Gasthäuser in the countryside usually offer traditional Swiss food at fair prices. I stopped for lunch at Gasthaus Rössli, which proved an excellent choice. The dining room called Stübli is simple and nicely decorated, and quieter than the café side. A huge thumbs up to the tenant lady: smiling, attentive and efficient. It truly was Swiss hospitality at its best. During the lunch the chef also came out to greet the guests much appreciated gesture. As I visited late September the à la carte menu puts focus on venison dishes. As starter I chose the mixed salad with air dried venison sausage. Very tasty, quite generous portion. The main course was Rehpfeffer (kind of venison gulash) served with all the trimmings (red cabbage, homemade spaetzli). Again a generous portion, perfectly prepared and delicious. Fortunately I still had some room left for the refreshing Otti 's dessert vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce and warm chestnuts. For Swiss standards prices remain pleasantly fair, the bill amounted to CHF69. I am looking forward to visiting again."

Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist, dass das Fleisch in der hauseigenen Regiometzg verarbeitet wird."

"The restaurant is very nice and cozy. You feel like home as soon as you enter.The owner is friendly and super simpatico. She also never says no to a nice chat and has a lot of hints, what to do in the countryside of beautiful Lucerne. You can choose from a big list, what you'd like to have on your Pizza and the two Pizzaiolos create a supertasty Pizza, even if you decide to choose everything :)"
