"As part of a wine tour, lunch was at The Singing Lake at Robert Channon. The winery has a simple cellar door set on beautiful grounds overlooking a lake. We'd been to the winery and purchased wines before so were really looking forward to going there for lunch. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The restaurant was full and not ready for us when we arrived. On a tour timing is important and we'd preordered so the process should be simple. We waited and we're finally able to go into our table for 14. The cafe was not very clean, there was a random arrangement of furniture and a vacuum cleaner sitting just near our table and nearby tables were covered in dirty dishes and glasses. Then lunch started coming. The first two vegetarian meals arrived containing bacon. The lamb shanks were good but rice and bok choy cold. Then there was a wait of about 10 minutes before the next meals came.... It was clear they are not professional- the staff had no idea how to wait tables properly. Then dessert came: our baked apples were raw: the beignets were raw to the point of the dough still rising!!! Finally, we were offered coffee which 3 of us asked for- only to hear the owner yelling at a waitress for it charging us!! Oh my gosh!! What a disaster!!! A shame because the location is great."
