"I arrived in Riddes to see a friend of a friend. I asked what to do in the area. He recommended I take the funicular into the Alps to a small town called Iserables. OMG. Almost a vertical accent. The village is tiny but amazing views. Virtually on top of the world. I ate at "Restaurant Alpes. It overhangs the cliffs and was a little unnerving. Settled into my room which was adequate, and had dinner in the restaurant. Incredible simple. I had the true Swiss fondue. I was served a hot plate with seasoned sliced new potatoes, then the waited would come by with a cart. It has a mini-spit in it with a gas jet flame. On the spit was a large wheel of cheese. He melted the cheese then flopped it on the potatoes. When you started getting low he would come by and give you more cheese. What a fun experience."
