"Called before arriving to confirm they had non-dairy milk alternatives for people with dairy allergies specifically. Asked multiple times, and even confirmed they had oat milk. When I arrived, I asked multiple times again about non-dairy milk alternatives for dairy allergies while ordering because I didn’t see the options on the menu. Once again confirmed they were going to use oat milk, and even exclaimed out loud directly to their faces that I was surprised that there was no upcharge for the non-dairy oat milk and received nods and “yes!” in response. When I got to my car with my milk teas, I took one sip and was concerned because it was suspiciously creamy. Went back inside to ask what they used for the milk tea. They pull out a jug of Lactaid… then continue to nod and repeatedly insist that they understood me when I explained that Lactaid only removes the sugar called lactose that makes lactose intolerant people sick, but still contains the dairy allergens whey casein that can kill people with dairy allergies. This is a serious misunderstanding of food safety that could quickly end on actual literal death and should probably be remedied asap. Definitely won’t be back. That was a terrifying experience."
