"Well where do I start with my review of the Cochin restaurant? Firstly having never dined there before we were not sure what to expect. We had only read reviews on TripAdvisor and Google which had been very complemently about the food and service so we wanted to give it a try. We had a table booked for 2 at 8.30, and we were met at the door and shown to our table by the window by a very pleasant waiter. He prompty brought over our menus, and we began to peruse through. The menu had a extensive selection of fish dishes which pleased me as I love fish, so I felt spoilt for choice as my expectations grew. The waiter was very attentive and informal and very knowledgeable about the dishes on their menu, and was happy to answer any questions we had. I finally settled on the fishermans soup for starter. Sadly this was a big let down! Very watery, no depth of flavour and next to no fish in an actual fish soup!!! My friend ordered the minty chilli prawns, the sauce which coated the prawns was tasty and zingy and the prawns cooked nicely however sadly the portion size and presentation was disappointing. Both starters seemed to arrive very quickly after ordering, which was a surprise. It seemed to me they had just been warmed through and thrown onto a plate. For my main course I ordered the mixed seafood curry which consisted of King fish,squid,prawns and mussels cooked in authentic Kerala special spice mixed sauce. The fish was cooked perfectly and the earthy Kerala special spice mixed sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the fish. Sadly the squid was over cooked and rubbery which was the only negative aspect to the dish. My friend overed the kuttanadan duck roast which consisted of slices of duck cooked in thick roast gravy sauce. The sauce had a lovely velvety rich flavour to it however the duck itself was a big let down as sadly it was tough a chewy. All in all some postives but also some negatives. If this was a school report it would probably read, 'tries hard but can do better '!!!"

"I 've worked in India and enjoyed the delights of Thali there (Maharashtra style each area tends to have its own). To my taste, Thali and Tandoor bring the real thing with the kind of freshness and quality that leaves you feeling great after eating. Charming, attentive staff. Perfect just off the high street location. Highly recommended."

"Not sure about these reviews, but our experience was excellent! the best fish and chips we had in a long time. fresh, hot and delicious. very fast delivery and I asked if they were so friendly to remove the skin they did and wrote a small note on the paper. the muddy heaps were also great! I have found the standard of muddy heaps to vary a lot in different takeaways, and these were a good consistency and did not look or taste artificial as some. really great service!"

"Very pleasant in service and eating. we took our little monkeys (19 months) and the staff could not have been more attentive care or patient. it was like a “young” team that has a bit to learn, but who really cares, and I’ll do it about experienced and uncarious every day. had a small problem that was quickly and efficiently treated. eating was pleasant and full of taste, portion sizes were good and if they look at the price it is hard to beat. will come back!"

"I've been wrong. I had never had such a bad Chinese food or any meal that smells bad and tastes worse. the whole meal is in the müll. a very bad experience and I hope only that I am not sick of the small amount I ate. I can't get rid of the smell of the house. this restaurant should be closed."

"Went on a Saturday night and at first the only customers. We were greeted as we entered the hotel by a friendly gentleman who took us to our table. Again a friendly lady took our drinks order. For starters we had the duck and pancakes. They were delicious. For the main course my husband had the red chicken curry and I had a chicken with chilli and cashew nuts, together with an auborgine side and rice. I asked the waitress which rice was Thai and she just smiled so took it that the one I was indicating to was it. My husband had ordered boiled rice. But they both tasted the same. My husband found the curry less flavoursome than he would have liked, and I loved mine. All was cooked perfect and was served beautifully. Later another couple and a single diner came in. The venue is lovely and clean beautifully decorated. We will definately be coming back again. It is certainly worth a visit!"

"Order through just eat at 12.30am- rang at 1am to cancel as realised was estimated for 2am! Told order was already cooked and ready to leave and should be with us in 30 minutes! 2.25am it arrives! Cold and manky! Absolutely gross!"
