"I don't come to Confolens very often, maybe twice in every 3 months, but each time we come to the town my wife and I keep meaning to give it a try. We relocated from a few miles east of Limoges last year (2022) but today was the first time we managed to eat here. Well, I'm sad to say I was extremely disappointed. Disappointed that we hadn’t made the effort until now. I had a chicken, red Thai curry; my wife had a prawn Asiatique curry and my mother in law (90) had the chicken tikka. OMfG. All 3 meals were lip-smackingly delicious, so much so that my mouth is watering and my tastebuds are reminiscing as I write this. The young lady that served us was very helpful. The owner, Andy (I didn’t catch his name at the time but I’m assuming this from other reviews) was very friendly and even though it was at the end of service, took time to chat to us and especially my M-i-L. I didn’t see the chef (Andy’s wife I think) but her cooking spoke volumes. We will definitely be back, soon."

"I left a five-star rating earlier for this fabulous place, but as soon as they opened, I think it is very much that Mary and Nick have gone from strength to strength in every respect. The ambience is excellent, the service is personal and well maintained while not intrusive. The wide range of spectacular teas and coffee is in the second to none and everywhere is immaculately clean and beautifully artistic, a real pleasure just to be there. But what about the food you ask? Well, I left the best until last, as the food is so good and consistent. Perfectly fresh and fabulously tasty, all house cooked with health in the head, you will not find better. Mary cooks and prepares everything that leaves her kitchen to maintain the strictest quality control. This is our "fortunate place." You can park on the square in Confolens and enjoy the beautiful short walk over the old bridge or you can drive around and find parking by the river or along the road. If you can, this is a popular place loved by French and English locals."
