"We decided to give Chinatown a try for lunch. My wife had garlic chicken which came with pork fried rice and spring roll. I had orange beef with pork fried rice and dumpling. The waitress was adequate. She wasn't rude, but clearly wasn't pleased with her day. She was completely robotic. I asked for mustard, which I never received. I chose to not press the issue. But she served the lunches and brought chop sticks after I requested them. She couldn't bring herself to smile. Chinatown is probably the first Chinese restaurant I've been to that hasn't offered tea as a beverage. We had glasses of tap water with ice. Tea isn't even on the menu! Soy sauce decanters are on every table, but they are the high sodium (red cap) variety. I have become a fan of the so called light soy sauce (green cap) which apparently is not available at Chinatown. The food was adequate. It had some flavor. The orange sauce on my beef was too thick, but the fresh orange zest was a nice touch. The beef itself was paper thin shards coated with batter. Fried to death, but surprisingly not too greasy nor burned. The few pieces broccoli that accompanied the beef were nicely green with a slight crunch. If I had some pungent mustard for my dumpling, I probably would've thought better of it. My wife's garlic chicken was the better of the two lunches. It had flavor and wasn't dried out or overly greased. The spring roll was a good vehicle for duck sauce. The garlic chicken had a good amount of water chestnut pieces to break up the boring consistency of the chicken bits. I felt OK when I left there, no need for dose of Underberg when I got to the car, consequently, the 3 star rating. If I had felt poorly, I'd have given them a 2 star, but all in all it is a 3 star place. We'd probably go there again if we found ourselves in Topsham at lunch time with a craving for Chinese food."

"We sat around the hibachi table and ordered. Our cook was very calm and docile, other people got a lively cook singing, engaging and having a great time. The food was kinda one dimensional mostly teriyaki. The calamari was rubbery but swordfish, shrimp and steak were cooked to perfection."
