"I was shopping at Joondalup yesterday and as is usually the case, forgot about lunch till the hunger pangs started niggling around 2pm. I made a beeline for Maya Masala in the downstairs food court and was happy to find my old favourite, chicken kati roll on the menu.<br>

It's usually about a 10 minute wait for this which is a good sign that it's freshly prepared. It's a giant of a meal, with spicy chicken, fried onions and capsicum wrapped in a massive roti paratha. It's always messy to eat, so I end up opening the kati roll and eating it with a knife and fork. I'm hopeless with these big rolled up concoctions and always make a mess of things!<br>

I haven't been to this franchise at Joondalup before, but have had this meal at Garden City where it is SPOT ON. The Joondalup version, whilst being ok, just wasn't up to the same standard and was lacking something in the spice department. Even the roti wasn't as flaky and yummy as the Garden City's version. Different cooks, different spicing, different cooking methods - I guess this proves that not all franchises are created equal.

"I have been coming to this restaurant for a few years now and each visit has been pleasant...until today. I took my family there for an evening meal where things were going fine until I found a beetle in my Paella. I proceeded to tell the waitress who informed her boss. The boss immediately came over and said “I think we can stand here all day and argue if it’s really a bug or not”. I’ve worked in these environments before and have been taught that in most instances, the customer is always right. The boss’ attitude was shocking and quite frankly upsetting that she insinuated that I was perhaps lying or being dramatic. I informed her that I was merely telling her so that she could feedback to her kitchen staff. The end of meal came and we were passed the bill that we were to pay in full. I was disheartened by this as I was expecting some sort of courtesy discount. I brought this up with the boss again and her response was “I don’t think it was a bug, the kitchen staff said it was impossible that it was a bug and the other waitress agrees with me...what more do you want me to say?” Speechless... Safe to say, I certainly will not be visiting this restaurant again."

"I guess you take things as you find them. We only wanted a cold drink mid afternoon. We were given a friendly reception, ice cold cokes and sat in air conditioned comfort although we could have gone outside under the shady trees. The toilets were very clean. Would go back and try some local fare next. time as I am guessing it is popular with the locals."
