"A Sunday drive to Araruama was be enhanced by stopping at this simple but cozy restaurant on the shores of Lake Araruama. We sat by the window and enjoyed peaceful views while sipping "choppinho tulipa", a small size lager beer served perfectly cold. One of us ordered "peixe a brasileira" a fish called "badejo" with abundant white meat and few bones, served in a pink fish sauce called "pirao" and accompanied with fluffy white rice and a delicious shrimp sauce (molho). The other ordered grilled badejo with rice, shrimp sauce and mashed potatos (real homemade). Each dish was more than enough for two people, brought to the table in beautifully decorated trays and served by a waiter that expertly got rid of skin and bones.Our servers, Fabio and Santos, understood our bad Portuguese, offered suggestions and packed doggie bags, all with a smile. Our dishes were around 70R but next time we will try the Picanha special with all the trimmings (rice etc.) for 54R serving two.A very relaxing and pleasant experience by beautiful Lagoa de Araruama, one of the largest salt water lakes in the world."
