"Went for afternoon tea, it was delicious. They did coronation chicken sandwich, so at time of booking requested plain chicken or chicken mayonnaise. Whilst waiting for food a waitress came over apologised said that chef had not read her note so was preparing...the chicken now there would be a wait offered complimentary drink for the delay. I did accept as she seemed adamant that I should. However, we booked for 2.30pm. The Afternoon tea was served at 2.38pm! hardly a wait. As we had this on Friday 02/10 were coming home on 03/10 we were unable to book a dinner there. I certainly would have done based on the attentive service attention to detail. To be honest this sealed a deal for us for the Hotel (The old Ship) we have booked for next April for our wedding anniversary will certainly be having afternoon tea there again!"
